This is a practice area structured within Archer & Associados, consisting of the provision of legal services across the various fields of urban planning, spatial planning and environmental law, including advisory work in these areas through the preparation of technical and legal opinions, and support for the promotion and licensing of projects, including in the field of renewable energy.

Archer & Associados lawyers in this area, coordinated by the Head of the Consortium, who holds dual higher education qualifications in law and environmental engineering, represent clients in civil and administrative judicial proceedings, in particular challenging urban development licensing decisions, in cases relating to spatial planning schemes, and in popular actions concerning environmental, urban planning and spatial planning matters.

With regard to environmental law, particular emphasis is placed on defending companies and individuals in environmental administrative offence proceedings concerning the discharge of liquid or gaseous effluents, waste disposal, noise emissions, or other breaches of environmental legislation, both at the administrative and judicial stages, an area in which Archer & Associados has extensive and successful experience. Also worth noting is the defence and assistance provided in criminal proceedings for urban planning and environmental offences, as well as civil liability claims for environmental damage.
